SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY OF CANTON, CALLED BY THE MAYOR, KENT McDOWELL, FOR THE FOLLOWING PURPOSES:
- Public Hearing for Tentative Annual Budget for Fiscal Year Beginning May 1, 2024 and ending April 30, 2025.
- Public Hearing for Proposed Annexation Agreement (or “Pre- Annexation”) Agreement involving real property located at East Maple Street, Canton, IL 61520 (P.I.N. 09-08-33-201-038).
- Approval of the Bill List
- Ordinance Adopting the Budget for all Corporate Purposes of the City of Canton, Fulton County Illinois in Liew of an Appropriation Ordinance for the Fiscal Year Beginning May 1, 2024 and Ending April 30, 2025. (2nd Reading).
- Ordinance establishing Compensation for Certain Employees of the City of Canton for the Fiscal Year Beginning May 1, 2024 (2nd Reading)
- Approval of the FY23 Audit.
- Resolution Approving a Pre-Annexation Agreement Between the City of Canton and Cayd Walljasper and Lyndsey Walljasper involving Real Property Located at East Maple Street, Canton, IL 61520. (P.I.N. 09-08-33-201-038).
- Approval of the East Elm Street Fence Removal/Installation Bid from American Fence Co. in the Amount of $34,744.00.
- Approval of the Final Fleet Program Purchase of a Ford F350 in the amount $81,951.00 for Public Works.
- Resolution Authorizing Utilities Director and/or Mayor to Execute a Lease Agreement Not Exceeding Two (2) Years of the City-Owned Farm.
- Approval of Asbestos Inspection Proposal from Kirwan Environmental Management, Inc. for 35 East Side Square, Canton, IL in the amount of $6,300.00.

Anyone desiring to address the City Council on matters germane/relevant to the agenda will be limited to five (5) minutes per registered speaker and must complete the public comment registration form available in the City Clerk’s office or on the City Clerk’s website and return it to the City Clerk or his/her designees as set forth on the form, at least forty-eight (48) hours prior to the start of the meeting at which the person desires to speak. However, for purposes of regular meetings, the public comment registration form shall be delivered to the City Clerk no later than 12:00 p.m. on the Friday preceding the regular meeting of the City Council that the person desires to speak. All speakers will be expected to comply with Section 1-6-23 of the Canton Municipal Code.
