Canton Main Street is a volunteer-driven organization under the umbrella of the Spoon River Partnership for Economic Development made up of business owners, everyday citizens, active retirees, students and community leaders.

Committee information

Through specialized committees, some of the goals of Canton Main Street are met by the internal and external tasks of several committees.

Organization Committee – works towards sustaining membership and communication with downtown businesses, organizations, residents and visitors.
Promotion Committee – works on marketing the downtown businesses and organizations through exposure with special events.
Design Committee – works towards the physical shape of the downtown, by creating an inviting atmosphere through signage, lighting, landscaping and encouraging new construction and developing sensitive design management programs.
